IRIS is an interdepartmental unit of USC's School of Engineering with
ties to USC's Information Sciences Institute (ISI). Members include
faculty, graduate students, and research staff associated with different
laboratories. Founded in 1986, it provides a focal point for government-
and industry-sponsored research in robotics, machine vision, and manufacturing
systems. IRIS publishes a Technical Report Series coordinates a comprehensive
educational program at USC, and holds monthly seminars.
