Viktor Prasanna Receives Honorary Doctorate from University of Geneva

Prof. Jacques  Weber, Rector of the University of Geneva, Viktor Prasanna, Prof. Jean-Marc Triscone, Vice-dean of the Faculty of  science
Viktor Prasanna, professor in the Viterbi School's Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical Engineering, received an honorary doctorate from the University of Geneva, Switzerland. The presentation was made on June 5,  2007 by Prof. Jacques Weber, Rector, and Prof. Jean-Marc Triscone, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Science of the University. This honor is  bestowed by the university and recognizes excellence in parallel and  distributed computation. 

Prof. Prasanna joined the faculty of Electrical Engineering at USC in 1983 and holds the Charles Lee Powell Chair in Engineering. He is a member of the Computer Engineering (CENG) group in the Ming Hsieh Department, and his research focuses on parallel and distributed computing architectures and algorithms. 

Alexander Sawchuk, Systems Chair of the department said: "please join me in congratulating Viktor on this notable recognition of his distinction and accomplishments in computer engineering."
