L-R: Krishna Nayak,Stefan Schall, Urbashi Mitra and Bhaskar Krishnamachari won USC-Mellon Awards for mentoring.

Three Ming Hsieh EE Faculty were recently honored with Mellon Awards for Excellence in Mentoring. Krishna Nayak and Bhaskar Krishnamachari were honored in the category "Faculty to Graduate Mentoring," and Ubli Mitra was honored in the category "Faculty to Faculty Mentoring."

The awards were made by the USC Center for Excellence in Teaching, Office of the Provost, and conferred at the Annual Mellon Mentoring Honors Reception held on April 22, 2008. In addition, Viterbi School faculty members Ron Blackwelder, of the Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering, and David Barnhart, of the Information Sciences Institute (ISI), were honored in
the category "Faculty to Undergraduate Mentoring," and Stefan Schaal, of the Department of Computer Science, was honored in the category "Faculty to Graduate Mentoring."
