Prof. Bill Steier Awarded the 2006 LEOS William Streifer Scienticfic Achievement Award

Professor Bill Steier of the USC Viterbi School of Engineering Electrical Engineering Department has been awarded the 2006 IEEE LEOS Wm Streifer Scientific Achievement Award for his seminal work with Larry Dalton and Harold Fetterman on polymer photonic devices and materials. Over the past decade, this group has revolutionized the field of polymer photonics by their work and established a technology base that is on the brink of commercialization. The Streifer award is the highest award to be given by the Lasers and Electro-optics Society of IEEE. It is awarded annually by the society to recognize the most meritorious scientific work in the field.
