Professor Robert M. Gagliardi of the Department Electrical Engineering is retiring as Professor of at the end of the Spring semester 2006. Prof. Gagliardi has had a distinguished forty-five year career at USC, and is the author of many technical publications, textbooks, and patents. He has developed several new courses that continue to be offered in the department
curriculum, and has supervised the Ph.D. research of many students. He has an outstanding record of Departmental and professional service, and is recognized for his technical achievements as a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
In recognition of these accomplishments, the Provost has approved his appointment as Professor Emeritus of Electrical Engineering, to be effective upon his retirement.
Alexander Sawchuk, Chair of Electrical Engineering-Systems, said "Please join me in congratulating Bob on his retirement and his new appointment. He expects to teach courses in our department occasionally and to participate in future research projects. We look forward to his continued involvement in academic life at USC."
