Prof. Hossein Hashemi granted the 2004 IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits Best Paper Award.  As many of you are aware, the IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits (JSSC) is THE premier scholarly journal of the integrated circuits community.  The paper, "A Fully Integrated 24-GHz Eight-Element Phased-Array Receiver in Silicon," by Xiang Guan, Hossein Hashemi and Ali Hajimiri, was named JSSC Best Paper in a ceremony on 6 February 2006 at the Solid State Circuits Conference in San Francisco.  It was published in the December 2004 issue of the JSSC.  The phased array design also served as the basis of a 19-page invited paper in the IEEE Proceedings in September of 2005.
