Full-Time Lecturer Position Opening
USC Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical Engineering
 
The Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical Engineering (http://ee.usc.edu) of the USC Viterbi School of Engineering (http://viterbi.usc.edu) seeks candidates for a full-time non-tenure-track teaching position as lecturer or senior lecturer to teach in the areas of computer engineering or computer/communication networks.
 
Lecturers are expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and may also advise students and supervise or develop teaching laboratories. Applicants must have a M.S. or higher degree or the equivalent in electrical engineering or a related field, and a strong teaching record. 
 
Applicants must include a letter describing their background, area(s) of specialization and teaching experience, a detailed curriculum vitae, and a statement of teaching philosophy.

Applicants must have a M.S. or higher degree or the equivalent in electrical engineering or a related field. A strong documented previous teaching record is highly desirable.

Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical Engineering


The Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical Engineering (http://ee.usc.edu) of the USC Viterbi School of Engineering (http://viterbi.usc.edu) seeks outstanding faculty candidates for tenure track assistant professor, and tenured associate professor or professor positions. Areas of interest include but are not limited to: VLSI design; networking for ubiquitous computing and communication; wireless communications; information theory and coding; quantum information processing; control systems; bio and nano-signal processing; and cognitive signals and systems. Additional areas include: circuit design for analog/mixed signal processing; wireless data and power transmission for human-implantable systems; physical sensing and interfaces to biomolecular functions; nanoscale electronics; nanophotonics; applied nanoscience; and quantum engineering.

Faculty members are expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, supervise undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctoral researchers, advise students, and develop a funded research program. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or the equivalent in electrical engineering or a related field and a strong research and publication record. Applications must include a letter clearly indicating area(s) of specialization, a detailed curriculum vitae, a one-page statement of current and future research directions and funding, and contact information for at least four professional references.

The graduate program of the USC Viterbi School of Engineering is listed as seventh in the most recent US News and World Report rankings. The School’s 170 tenured and tenure track faculty includes 26 members of the National Academy of Engineering, seven winners of Presidential Early Career Awards, 45 Early Career Awards, four winners of the Shannon Award, and a co-winner of the 2002 Turing Award. USC faculty conduct research in leading-edge technologies with about $160 million in research expenditures annually. The Viterbi School is home to the Information Sciences Institute (ISI), two National Science Foundation-funded Engineering Research Centers (the Integrated Media Systems Center and the Biomimetic MicroElectronic Systems Center), the USC Stevens Institute for Technology Commercialization, and the Department of Homeland Security’s first center of excellence (CREATE).
